KCRCC: Does not support our military

Absentee ballots have begun to arrive in the mailboxes of Kootenai County residents. If you are a registered Republican like me, you will likely get a post card the exact same day from the KCRCC local party bosses. They will impart their wisdom on you to support their so called “rated and vetted” candidates. Remember that old saying “fool me once?”

You will also see them rail against Proposition 1, the ballot initiative that ensures all Idahoans get to vote in the taxpayer funded primary.

The party bosses are careful not to mention that active-duty military personnel and veterans who are registered as Independent are banned from voting in the primary they pay for. Our state has soldiers stationed all over the world fighting for our freedoms. Meanwhile the KCRCC in their home state is insisting these patriots do not have the right to vote unless they agree to follow the party line. Look me in the eye party boss Brent Regan and tell me this is OK? And after you are done insulting my intelligence, take a drive to our beautiful new Veterans Home in Post Falls and look those battle worn veterans in the eye. Then you could skip on over to the Idaho National Guard headquarters and tell those brave men and women that you do not support their right to vote in an open primary. Round out your trip at the VA Clinic in Coeur d’Alene and see the sick and wounded for yourself. Tell them you are fighting against their right to vote in the primary.

I believe Idahoans cherish their military personnel and veterans. We understand the sacrifice of generations of service members and will ignore the shameful efforts of the KCRCC. Please vote YES for Proposition 1.
